Car just wouldnt start this afternoonm, turned over fine.

Checked fuses and all fine, Rac did a fault code check ad got 16. He played about with the fuses behind ecu and the relay for fuel pump kicked in with a buzz and car started fine.

ive heard theses relays tend to burn out?? is it worth having the fuse/relay unit taken apart to see if their is any relay damage?

Car idling from cold is still not smooth.

Look at FAQ 36 - Relay 30

IIRC There are a number of reports posted that wiring to the relay holder or the connections come adrift or get (heat?) damaged leading to intermittent operation as well as faulty relay.
